Is Becoming a Permanent Makeup Artist Worth It?

Why does starting something new make us want to break out in a cold sweat??

 Simple truth…

We are creatures of habit.

But wouldn't it be amazing if...

You got to use your creativity at work each day.
You built a clientele of people you love and get to talk to.
You made your own hours and could take off when needed.
You got to live and work on your terms.
And you had a schedule that allowed you to spend time with your VIPs (your family, kids, friends, pets...)

The Schedule

As per NM rules~
This includes
  • 100 hours in theory: safety, sanitation, procedural basics, the science of materials, anatomy, and more...

5499 + 1499 per specialty (brows, eyeliner, lips) + tax

  • 1 specialty= $6998
  • 2 specialties= $8498
  • 3 specialties= $9998

To put the cost into perspective…
An average appointment will bring you $350-$800. We offer a program that is extensive and very in-depth to prepare you to start working. You will be working directly with masters who have been doing this for 15-20 years.

This is not your average certification course- this is where careers are made!

There are additional fees that are due to outside sources associated with getting your license. These are in addition to the cost of the course. These are as follows and prices may vary.

Blood Borne Pathogens, CPR, and First Aid certifications- approximately $25 each to be turned in with your application packet.
$50 Cashiers check or money order to the NM State Board of Body Art Practitioners due with your application packet for your apprenticeship.
Text Book Purchase- $229

AFTER the COURSE
Approximately $130 to a State-sponsored testing facility after completion of the course.
$100 Cashiers check or money order to the NM State Board of Body Art Practitioners due with your application packet for your license.
When you apply for your license you will have to indicate where you will be working on your application. This location must hold an active establishment license. If they do not or if you are going out on your own you will also need to apply for an establishment license. This is estimated at $300 due to the State as well.

More Info

Hi friend, I’m a Microblade Artist and Trainer.

Hi friend,

A microblade artist and trainer in the lash and brow industry.

I started in the beauty industry as a permanent makeup artist back in 2004. I have been the owner of Lorenco's Salon with my mom and partner, Cindy Kocurek for 18 years.

I was also one of the first people in Albuquerque to do eyelash extensions in 2005. Now I have my own microblading shop in my hometown of Corrales, NM and offer eyelash extension training to aspiring lash and brow artists.

My goal is to give ladies the confidence and tools to live life like a boss. Whether that is with microbladed brows or training to further your career, I want every gal to leave me feeling great about themselves.

You're beautiful, inside and out!

See you soon...

xoxo,

Shelby
